Mountain biking in the Pyrenees
Adventure biking is biking off the beaten track - by mountain bike, or trail motorbike. The Pyrenees is western Europe's largest wilderness area, offering superb possibilities for adventure biking, even on relatively short excursions of an hour or two from our village, and on full day adventures with picnic lunch in the wild.

In the summer of 2005 two young British explorers plotted and documented 8 new mountain bike itineraries in the Massif du Canigou in the eastern Pyrenees. Luke Spink and Alec Glen were sponsored by association Destination Pyrenees and Village Catalan (villagecatalan.com) and they are now making the information available to the public here on the Destination-Pyrenees.com website.

The starting point of each itinerary is Vernet-les-Bains, a spa village at 650 meters altitude, in the foothills of the Canigou. Downloadable information on each will be available here, and a slide show here
